General Administration
The main purpose of the Administration and Finance section is to give support to all operations of the Directorate in accordance with its statutory mandate. This is achieved by securing all operational resources, allocating them and making sure that these resources are effectively managed. The key administration and finance functions of the Directorate are as follows:

Public Education and Corruption Prevention
The Public Education and Corruption Prevention Division (PECPD) draws its mandate from Section 6 of the Prevention of Corruption and Economic Offences Act No.5 of 1999, as amended. The Division’s operational programme covers four main areas, namely:
- Public Education: sensitizing and educating the public against the evils of corruption thereby enlisting and fostering public support in the fight against corruption and economic crime.
- Corruption Prevention: Examining the operational systems of institutions with the view to identifying opportunities for the corrupt practices and recommending appropriate remedies to strengthen the systems against corruption.
- Research: Undertaking anti-corruption research to study corruption related problems scientifically and recommend appropriate action.
- Publicity: As an accountable institution, the Directorate is keeping the public informed of all activities that require public attention, and this in itself contributes immensely in deterring corrupt practices.
Investigation and Prosecution of Cases
The Directorate is charged, in terms of the law to, among others, receive complaints and reports alleging acts of corruption from members of the public and subject them to investigation if so necessary. In order to accomplish this, the Directorate operates three main sections, namely:-
- The Intelligence and Report Centre
- The investigations
- The Prosecution
