On 9 December, the DCEO hosted a dynamic International Anti-Corruption Day Symposium, bringing together youth representatives from across the country in a unified stand against corruption. Held at Manthabiseng Convention Centre under the theme “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” the event created a national platform for young people to share their voices, ideas, and commitments toward building a culture of integrity.
The symposium convened youth from diverse sectors, including students, young professionals, civil society groups, and youth-led organizations. Through panel discussions, interactive dialogues, and plenary sessions, participants explored the far-reaching impact of corruption on development, governance, and social justice. Youth speakers emphasized that corruption erodes public trust, deepens inequality, and restricts opportunities, particularly for young people.
Discussions throughout the day highlighted the critical role of youth as both current and future leaders in promoting transparency and accountability. Participants stressed the need for ethical leadership, civic education, and inclusive governance systems that empower young people to actively participate in anti-corruption efforts. The exchange of ideas also showcased innovative youth-led solutions and reinforced the importance of collective action at community and national levels.
