Maseru- Five (5) Qiloane council members have appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 28 counts of corruption. The accused; Tanki Mokoma, Motjeku Petlane, Nteboheleng Matamane, Lekunutu Mosuoe, and Leketla Seqhee , allegedly accepted bribes amounting to M98,250 for surveying and allocating land to buyers. It is alleged that they demanded M1,000 from each person to whom they offered land surveying services, claiming the money was for food, transport, and airtime.The council members were elected into office in 2022 and are expected to complete their term in 2028.The Magistrate’s Court granted each accused bail of M5,000 and ordered them to appear before the court on 03 March 2026 for the setting of a trial date.
